Letter from Fishers of Men Texas East Division to our Communities

To the wonderful community of Hemphill and Sabine County,

On behalf of Fishers of Men Texas East Division, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for the incredible support you provided in making the National Championship Tournament such a tremendous success. Your hospitality, generosity, and teamwork truly made this event special.

I would like to offer special recognition to a few individuals whose efforts went above and beyond. Steven English, Superintendent of Hemphill ISD, did an outstanding job coordinating the full setup for the pre-tournament banquet held in the high school gymnasium. Ken Kilcrease of Go Texan Cookers dedicated several days preparing an exceptional meal that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

We are also deeply grateful to First Baptist Church of Hemphill and Six Mile Baptist Church for providing shuttle buses and drivers, ensuring smooth and efficient transportation throughout the event. Appreciation goes to Judge Daryl Melton, Robert Neal, County Attorney, and Don Illes, Manager/Director of the Sabine River Authority, Gary Baker, Director, Fishers of Men, for their vision and leadership in bringing this event to life.

A sincere thank you as well to all the local restaurants, stores, hotels, marinas, and rental property owners who welcomed our anglers so warmly. Your community spirit was evident at every turn.

Hemphill and Sabine County have truly demonstrated why they are known as the “Bass Fishing Capital of Texas.”

Our organization is grateful for each and every one of you.

With sincere appreciation,
Dick Polk
Director, Fishers of Men Texas East Division
